Annual Spring Activities and Community Events in the Dickinson Area

Spring is one of the most unpredictable seasons in our region. Some years, we have snow through April, and others we have warm weather from March through May. For that reason, there are not many annual events scheduled for this time of year.

Fortunately, we have resources such as the Dickinson County Library and the Imagination Factory Community Center, which offer indoor activities during this time of year. Depending on when Easter falls, there is always an abundance of Easter Egg Hunts and brunches organized by local restaurants, clubs, and churches.

To mark the end of the ski season, the crew at Pine Mountain Ski Resort builds a 90-foot pond skim near the bottom of the hill. Not everyone who attempts it will make it across, but there are prizes for first, second and third places. This annual tradition brings the skiing community together and is fun for all ages. Depending on the weather, this event is either held in March or April.

This event is fun for the entire family and features Moose of the Mountain, Pasty Eating and Frozen T-Shirt Contests, and, of course, a pond skim. Depending on the weather, this event is either held in March or April.
