Lights at the Lake

The Lake Antoine Park Partners invite businesses and organizations to create Christmas light displays at the campsites. This free community event is open daily from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

The Nutcracker Ballet

From the Staubaum’s parlor to the Land of Sweets, Northern Michigan Dance Academy and the Dickinson Ballet Company bring The Nutcracker to life on stage. Set to Tchaikovsky’s score, the timeless classic has become a holiday tradition at The Braumart.

Downtown Christmas Walk

The first Friday in December, Downtown Iron Mountain hosts its annual Christmas Walk. The event begins in the early evening, where kids can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and work on crafts at the Dickinson County Library, and then visit a live Nativity at the downtown stage before joining the foot parade to the community tree lighting ceremony.

Christmas in Norway

Downtown Norway hosts Christmas in Norway the first weekend of December. This holiday celebration includes a Santa Parade with fireworks, followed by an opportunity for kids to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus at City Hall. Each year, the Norway DDA board adds new activities for kids and adults alike.

Christmas in Florence

The Florence County Chamber of Commerce hosts Christmas in Florence at the high school. This holiday event features a large variety of vendors selling crafts and homemade art. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to meet with children.

Stomp the Snow

Stomp the Snow is a lantern-lit snowshoe event organized by the Family Snowshoe Association to raise funds for local nonprofit organizations. Each year, the group selects 1-2 organizations that will receive proceeds from the event. The free, family-friendly event is held at Pine Grove Country Club each year in January.

Toilet Bowl Trauma Trot & Chili Cook Off

The Toilet Bowl Trauma Trot & Chili Cook Off is a new event in Niagara that benefits the Niagara Area Emergency Unit, Inc. The main attractions are the Porta Potty races and Chili Cook Off.

Night of Wizardry

The Night of Wizardry is a fundraiser for the Dickinson Area Community Foundation, benefiting its Community Impact Grants. The annual event takes place at the end of January at Pine Grove Country Club. The club is transformed into a famous school of witchcraft and wizardry, with an immersive dinner-theatre theme.

K.O.A.L.A. - Kites Over Awesome Lake Antoine

Professional kiters from the upper Midwest bring larger-than-life kites to awesome Lake Antoine. The Lake Antoine Park Partners host this free, annual event, which is great for the entire family.

FIS Intercontinental Cup Ski Jumping Tournament

Every year, tens of thousands of spectators gather to watch world-class ski jump athletes participate in the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jump Continental Cup tournament at the Pine Mountain Ski Jump in Iron Mountain. Known as one of the U.P.’s biggest tailgate events, the event hosted by the Kiwanis Ski Club is one of the only places in the U.S. to see world-class ski jumping.
Keyes Peak Up Hill Truck Drags

One of the biggest events in Florence County, the Keyes Peak Up Hill Truck Drags attracts competitors from all over. The annual event raises money for the Florence Volunteer Fire Department, Keyes Peak Ski Hill committee, and the Blue Ox Trail Riders.
